Re-Elect

Pragmatic Businessman

Caring Community Leader

Jim Gray embodies the vision of our founding fathers as a part-time city councilman and businessman.  He helps pass laws and ordinances at the City Council and then has to live under the rules he passes.

Over the years Jim worked in banking and commercial real estate, at one point owning a small business with his son Jeff. Jim was a board member of Florida Citrus Sports and Habitat for Humanity as well as Chair of the City of Orlando Affordable Housing Advisory Committee.

Served America

in the

United States

Air Force

After high school, like many young men of his generation, Jim enlisted in the Air Force and Air National Guard.  He served three years in the military and then returned home to marry his high school sweetheart, Kathy.

Jim continues to respect the military and the veterans who serve our great country.  He’s especially proud to have the Orlando VA Medical Center located in Lake Nona.

His respect for the military extends to our local law enforcement where many veterans also serve.  Jim supports the men and women that protect our community in the Orlando Police and Orlando Fire Department.

Husband, Father & Grandfather

Jim and Kathy, his high school sweetheart, have been married for over 46 years now.  They are proud parents of two grown children, Jeff and Christie and have three grandchildren.

Like most of us, Jim’s greatest joy comes in spending time with family. Which is why he is particularly proud of having spearheaded getting three new parks for District One, including a public library. These parks include Heroes Park (behind VA Hospital), McCoy Park on the east airfield of OIA, and Poitras Park.

Jim believes in the principles of smart growth and holds developer’s feet to the fire to make sure they don’t run over neighbors.
